As part of a self-study I created a series plexiglass monoprint using soy and permanent marker on watercolor paper. The first pass with the plate was the 'Explore' print, followed by 'hoot' and then 'be happy.' The second and third prints were ghost prints which I illustrated over with permanent marker.
This process is special to me, because it reminds me of a drawing exercise I did with my father. One of us would draw a squiggly line that didn't represent anything, and the other would find a form or shape in the chaos and take their turn with the pen to turn it into something recognizable.
