Tree Lithographs + Illustration
As part of a self-study I created a series plexiglass monoprint using soy and India inks on watercolor paper. The first pass with the plate was the yellow print. The next print was the simple red tree, and the last was a ghost print which I illustrated over with India inks.
This process is special to me, because it reminds me of a drawing exercise I did with my father. One of us would draw a squiggly line that didn't represent anything, and the other would find a form or shape in the chaos and take their turn with the pen to turn it into something recognizable.
